Downtown Providence Engagement in the Fall

Michaella and Christy contacted me to photograph their engagement during peak foliage. Since they lived in North Providence I made the suggestion of meeting at Waterplace Park in Providence. There are so many nooks and crannies to take photos in this one small area of the city, so I knew it’d be a great spot close to their home. They met me there after work on a sunny October afternoon when the last little bit of sun kissed the tops of the tall buildings. And of course we made some time at the end for some spectacular sunset portraits.
Reasons I love Waterplace Park
- The long cobblestone paths are dreamy
- We are in the heart of the city with many vantage points (the bridge, State House, skyline, tunnel, riverfront etc)
- Iron fencing
- Willow trees
- Sunsets reflect fiery light off the river and all the lights come on at dusk
If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to explore Waterplace Park, do yourself a favor and stop by. There are a couple parking lots off of Moshanssuck Court and Stillman Street, or you can park at the Providence Place Mall garage and walk a couple blocks over. There is so much beauty and fun places to explore in the city of Providence, but Waterplace Park will always be my favorite spot.
