A Rhode Island Wedding and Portrait Photographer. My goal when photographing every wedding is to leave my clients with a full story of their day. All the pretty poses with their families and friends are important, yes, but it’s those in between moments of laughter and excitement for what is, and what is to come that fuels my love for capturing weddings all these years later.
These sweethearts were referred to me by another client and dear friend Suzanne, who has allowed me to capture her family’s memories for the last eight years. I knew if Suzanne loved Lindsay and Frank, then so would I. And I do. Lindsay was expecting a baby girl in the fall. When we spoke on the phone I recommended that we schedule her maternity session soon. Fast forward a few days and we were able to sync our calendars for a sunset maternity session.
Alas, we met at the lovely Harkness Memorial State Park. This state park is an impeccably clean and well maintained park. There are so many different locations within the park to take pictures in, that no matter how often I work there, every session looks fresh and unique. I knew that Lindsay and Frank were expecting a little girl. Since she was wearing a beautiful floral maxi dress, I knew we must stop at the carriage house gardens. In the late fall dahlias and astilbe are in full bloom, and are a feast for the eyes. Just look at this smorgasbord of color and life.
It was hard to pull me away from the beautiful flowers – I could have stayed there all afternoon. However the park has so much to offer we decided to meander a bit and follow the sunlight. This location has everything you could want – stunning ocean views, a mansion, many meticulous gardens, a beach, and more.
Finally, we finished the session near the entrance of the park – a spot often overlooked by some because you have to drive past it to arrive in the parking lot. If you are lucky enough to find yourself at Harkness Park for sunset, make sure you stop here. Watch the light fall around the meadow. It is a captivating view.
Soon I will make a post with pictures from their newborn session. Thank you for taking the time to stop by the blog. I hope you enjoyed this beautiful maternity session!
