A Rhode Island Wedding and Portrait Photographer. My goal when photographing every wedding is to leave my clients with a full story of their day. All the pretty poses with their families and friends are important, yes, but it’s those in between moments of laughter and excitement for what is, and what is to come that fuels my love for capturing weddings all these years later.
Oh how I love coastal weddings in Connecticut! Priscilla and Josh chose to wed in Mystic, CT – the town where their love story began. Josh serenaded Priscilla with his musical talent, playing in a band a local restaurant in downtown Mystic. It was love at first sight for Priscilla, and soon enough the two became an item.
They chose to keep the wedding in the same town where they fell in love, and planned a quintessential coastal affair in June 2021. In line with their easygoing personalities, Priscilla and Josh got ready at an Airbnb off of Pearl Street in downtown Mystic. The girls got ready in the home, and the gentlemen had their own space in a cottage next door. It was an easy flow from getting dressed, to first look and formals all on the same property.
There are so many reasons to love Priscilla and Josh’s wedding venue, the Mystic Yachting Club– the architecture, the location, the views along the Mystic River. It is a wedding venue like no other in southeastern Connecticut. Priscilla and Josh exchanged vows under a willow tree with some guests seated along the river, and the rest enjoying the spectacular view from the balcony above.
to their riverfront ceremony, and the boathouse design of their reception venue space was a memorable event. From tiny sailboat centerpieces, and driftwood decor, to navy bridesmaid dresses and suits, it was a warm and inviting nautical theme.
After a few family formals, everyone entered into the beautiful yachting club reception space upstairs. There are large arched windows with direct views to the shipyard below, and it lets a lot of natural light into the room. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and to this day I’ve never seen another reception space quite like the Mystic Yachting Club.
As you can see, Priscilla and Josh had a beautiful summer wedding in southeastern Connecticut. The Mystic Yachting Center provided a stunning backdrop for a nautical wedding. For more information about our wedding photography services, visit this page on our website.
